About Euro-IX
Euro-IX for the IXP
Euro-IX aims to increase the presence of European IXPs, this is achieved in two ways. Firstly, via this web site portal giving the necessary essential information for ISPs throughout the world looking to connect to a European IXP. Secondly by representing the member IXPs at Internet related events in both Europe and globally via a neutral Euro-IX representative. The outcome of this increased presence attempts to increase the membership of the IXP, thus giving their member ISPs a larger number of potential peering partners. Via purpose built mailing lists and member only web pages, internal knowledge of the IXP community is exchanged and developed thus improving the European Internet community as a whole. Euro-IX for the ISP
With the ever increasing amount of IXPs situated around Europe, the 'new comer' or 'looking to expand' ISP can receive guidance in attempting to work out where or which IXP is best suited to their individual needs. Via both the Euro-IX database and an IXP services matrix the ISP is assisted in making the above mentioned decision. Once a potential IXP has been spotted the ISP is assisted further via a contact form and individual IXP information pages on the web site. Euro-IX for the ISP
Euro-IX for the general IP community
With now more than 40 member IXPs and over 3,600 connected customers to these member IXPs, Euro-IX represents a large part of the European IP community. For this reason a substantial amount of interest might be directed towards Euro-IX by politicians, regulators, vendors and other industry related sectors.
Vendors of industry related equipment, find themselves in an ideal customer specific marketplace. Euro-IX can offer the opportunity for these vendors and IXPs to come together and exchange ideas and in turn produce industry specific equipment and services.
